About Us
The Just Transition Knowledge Network (JETNET) brings together organizations that are committed to building evidence-based and policy-relevant knowledge for a just and sustainable future. Spearheaded by the Just Transition Research Centre, IIT Kanpur this collaborative network aims to co-create a comprehensive knowledge base through capacity building and vibrant knowledge exchange.
Why do we need a network?
Just transition is an evolving research agenda and a longterm policy imperative. The challenges of decarbonizing India's developmental trajectory are complex and distinct. It requires collaborative and synergetic efforts to synthesize various approaches and disciplinary lenses to co-create tailor-made, region-specific, sustainable solutions.
The JETNET will create a dedicated research cohort that exclusively engages with multiple challenges and aspects of just energy transition. This will lead to a targeted allocation and flow of research and funding resources.

About the speaker:
Amanda is the Founder of The Next Economy, where she supports regional communities across Australia to manage the impacts of decarbonisation and climate change in a way that builds more equitable and regenerative economies. Most of this work has been in coal and industrial regions, where she has brought together government, industry, workers and community groups to co-design transition strategies despite deep-seated tensions. Her work draws on 30 years' experience working with changemakers across the world to address economic and health inequalities, environmental degradation, women's rights and climate justice. Amanda is a Churchill Fellow and has a PhD from ANU. She is also a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, an Industry Fellow at the University of Sydney and a co-editor of the recently published book: Regional Energy Transitions in Australia: From impossible to possible.
